About Us
Welcome to Mentone General Practice. We are located at 66 Balcombe Road, opposite the intersection with Station
Street and the Caltex Petrol Station. There is ample parking available and for those using public transport the 903 bus
stops right across the road, and the Mentone train station is within easy walking distance.
Our Open Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 6:00/5:00 pm. Consultations are by appointment or call us to be seen as a walk-in. If you need a doctor outside of these hours, please contact our Locum Service on 13 41 00 or find a locum service here. Should you find that appointments between 6 pm and 11 pm are not available, please try Bentleigh Doctors GP clinic, with whom we have a cooperative after-hours arrangement.
Health Professionals are tenants at Mentone General Practice.
Our Fees
Bulk Billing and Fees Notice
As of November 1st, we are pleased to offer bulk billing for standard consultations, chronic disease management, mental health care plans, and related assessments.
However, procedures such as minor surgeries, mole removals, biopsies, and iron infusions are not included in the bulk billing incentive and will incur a private fee.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you are not eligible for a Medicare card, you will be charged a private fee, which must be paid at the time of your consult: Standard Consult $85 and Long Consult $130.
Medical Reports will incur an out-of-pocket cost, depending on the complexity of the report. Other types of consultations will be charged at the discretion of your doctor, as applicable.
Workcover fees
All fees for Workcover related attendances need to be paid to the clinic at the time of the consultation. Later on, patients may submit the receipts to their respective insurers.
The fees for Workcover attendances are:
Standard consultation $85 (reimbursement $65.28, gap $19.72)
Long consultation $155 (reimbursement $119.68, gap $35.32)

If your reason for contacting us is an emergency, please telephone 000 immediately, otherwise our receptionists will
arrange an appointment for you.
Privacy
When you register as a patient of our practice, you provide consent for our doctors and practice staff to access and use
your personal information so they can provide you with the best possible healthcare. Only staff who need to see your
personal information will have access to it. If we need to use your information for anything else, we will seek additional
consent from you to do this.
Ensuring your information stays private is paramount. Our practice abides by the Australian Privacy Laws and Principles
and follows the guidelines of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner’s Handbook for the management of
health information in general practice. If you would like a copy of our Privacy Policy, please ask our receptionist.
Patient Feedback
Your feedback is important to us. It helps the practice to continually improve. A suggestion box is provided in the waiting
room or you can speak to the receptionist, phone or email us with your suggestions.
For the purposes of the feedback. Doctors at our practice are independent practitioners, not employees. The practice has no control over doctors’ professional conduct, schedules and fees.
