Many of us think of cosmetic injections to help conceal the visible signs of ageing. But cosmetic injections have their roots in treating various medical conditions and are now used as a preventative for chronic migraine.

Cosmetic injections (essentially a Botulinum toxin) gradually decrease the frequency and severity of migraine headaches, and for many people, it’s an effective treatment that improves their quality of life.

Botulinum toxin (often referred to as Botox) treatment blocks the nerves that trigger the sweat glands.
Each affected area of your body will need several injections. It may take a few days to notice the results. You’ll likely need repeated treatments every six months to retain the effect. A possible side effect is short-term muscle weakness in the treated area.

Cosmetic injections are a non-invasive alternative to TMJ surgery. A natural muscle relaxant, botulinum toxin can ease muscle pain for several months at a time. TMJ and bruxism are similar but not the same disorders.

Please, enquire at the Reception to discuss the treatment options.
